Hello Dear Art Lover
SPRING HAS SPRUNG !
THE GRASS HAS RIZ..I WONDER WHERE THE BIRDIES IS!
Did you have the goofy uncle who always thought we’d laugh? Never the less it is a very joyous time of year. Especially after our very dark winter. Apparently the darkest in decades. Which means we may go a little overboard with kookiness. Or is that just me?
Here at Living Artfully with Gail, I’m in the midst of getting ready for my first solo show. The space I’ve rented has the perfect vibe for me. It’s a little industrial mixed with a friendly atmosphere of natural wood and tons of light. It’s right on Queen St E, near the lake and close to the Beaches neighbourhood I love. There will be a mix of a lot of new paintings plus a selection of a few older pieces that deserve to have an outing. Please plan on visiting ‘It’s All About Love’, April 16-22, at 1588 Queen St E. (just west of Coxwell). The opening is Sun April 16, 1pm-5pm. Refreshments and fun to be had.
Did you know that you can visit almost any museum in the world with a virtual tour? I love hearing the docents speak about the paintings in art galleries. The last time I was in London, I was as mesmerized by the children listening to the guide as I was with her explanation. Here’s a link to the Tate. You can look up so many masterpieces it’s almost like being there in person.

Would you be interested in taking a gelli print workshop? My friend Gerry, the illustrious printmaker, will hold a small class soon. I have a list of people who are interested. Let me know if you want to be added. It’s a fun way to create prints and papers for collage.
This is the last WE that my two paintings, The Wallflower and A Gathering of Friends will be shown at the Elaine Fleck Fine Art Gallery, 1351 Queen St W. We had a wonderful audience for the opening. It was a privilege to be included in this prestigious gallery. If you’d like to meet me there before it ends, I’d love to share my stories with you.
Just in time for spring and Easter and Mother’s Day, I have some of my Pretty Little Things mini florals in the best store in my hood. They are small 6x6in beauties on wood panel, done in acrylic with a glossy finish. Kat has them on a shelves, but they can also be hung on the wall. If your’e looking for a bright little something for yourself or a friend, visit Blossom and Tempest at 928 Kingston Rd, between Victoria Park and Main St. Kat has curated a wonderful selection of giftware and clothing in a charming boho atmosphere. Her greeter Csoski, is the loveliest four legged one I’ve met. Here are a few photos of her boutique.
Rock on,
Gail
